The Pupil Premium is an allocation of money for schools based on the number of children who are eligible. For every eligible child, our school will receive an extra £1,320 from central government.

Pupils eligible for Pupil Premium will receive free school meals throughout primary school (not just in EYFS and KS1) and will be able to access certain “paid for” provision in school such as after school clubs and residential trips*.

Free school meals are available to pupils in receipt of, or whose parents are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits :

  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net income of no more than £7,400, assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
  • Income Support / Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance / Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you're not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

If parents feel they may be eligible for free school meals they will also qualify for Pupil Premium funding for school.

* Please note that our remission policy only allows for payment of these whilst you are entitled to receive free school meals.
