School Council
Our School Councillors and Health and Well Being Officers
The Pupils Voice
The School Council and Health and Wellbeing officers strive to give all pupils a voice on school matters and suggest improvements and new initiatives here at Saint Johns. As councillors, we listen to the views of pupils and liaise with teachers with the overall aim of making our school community the best that it can be.
We meet on the first Monday of every month, for a working lunch, with our link teacher Mrs Crampton and volunteer Mr McCarthy. We have an agenda of what to discuss which involves up and coming events that we can help with, charity days that are coming up, school events to raise money or awareness and many more. Everyone gets a chance to speak and when we have finished, we feedback to our classes, often holding votes for the best ideas. We then feedback to Mrs Crampton and Mr McCarty and identify the next steps.
All School councillors hold their post for 2 years and the Health and Wellbeing Officers hold theirs for one year. Elections take place at the beginning of Term 6 and the new councillors join the team to shadow existing members for the remainder of the academic year.
