Next steps if things still your child still doesn't make progress.
My child has had a Learning Passport for a while - but still isn't making progress. What next?
Multi Disciplinary Assessment / Education Health and Care plan (EHC)
For some children, their needs are very complex. Where a child is still not making the expected progress we will probably ask other professionals to take another look at your child's needs. Collectively they might decide that the needs of your child are such that we need to ask the local authority to carry out an assessment. This may also be the case if your child has very specific medical needs, or if they are disabled. Everyone, including you and your child will give their view of how your child can best be supported and this may result in a recommendation that your child is given an Education Health Care Plan. A panel of professionals will decide if a more formal review of needs is needed and once this is complete a recommendation about how much support your child will receive is made. This is known as an Educational Health and Care plan (EHC).
Once an EHCP is issued a review will be held annually.
