Deputy Headteacher Emily Sowinski
A message from Miss Sowinski:
Hello, I’m Miss Sowinski, and I am proud to be a Deputy Headteacher at St John’s. From the moment I arrived, I knew St John’s was a school with a strong sense of community and a shared commitment to excellence. In my role, I focus on ensuring every child receives the strongest possible start to their education within a safe and nurturing environment where they are encouraged to achieve highly, both academically and personally.
I hold a degree in Early Years Education and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status. Throughout my career, I have taught across the full primary age range, from Early Years to Key Stage 2. This breadth of experience gives me a strong understanding of how children learn and develop throughout their primary years.
As Deputy Headteacher, I play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the school and maintaining high standards in teaching and learning. I work closely with staff to develop the curriculum, strengthen subject leadership and provide professional coaching and mentoring. I am also the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding practice is rigorous, consistent and embedded across the school.
Alongside my role at St John’s, I have been a governor at another Lincolnshire primary school for five years, where I chair the Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee.
I am committed to promoting a healthy work life balance for staff, recognising that wellbeing and professionalism are essential to sustained excellence.
If we have not yet met, I look forward to doing so. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s learning.
